Meet Dr. Anjali Vekaria
Anjali S. Vekaria MD is a board-certified dermatologist and founder of Lumera Dermatology.
Dr. Vekaria graduated locally from Milton High School, received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!), and her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. She then completed a research fellowship at Mount Sinai during which she oversaw over 40 clinical trials for new medications treating skin conditions such as alopecia areata, eczema, and psoriasis and authored several peer-reviewed articles in her field. Dr. Vekaria finished dermatology residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City and served as chief resident during her final year. She has since furthered her expertise with a hair fellowship with the world-renowned Donovan Hair Clinic. After living and working in New York City for 8 years, Dr. Vekaria moved back home to Alpharetta, Georgia to be closer to family and friends.
She is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and board certified by the American Board of Dermatology. Her expertise has been featured in numerous editorial publications such as USA Today and Huffpost.
In her spare time, Dr. Vekaria balances being a mother to three little ones and staying active with yoga and barre. She also enjoys participating in local Alpharetta events and traveling with her husband (when she can!).
